Friday Youth Club

About this Project

Friday Youth Club is a weekly, centre-based open-access provision at Alford House, running every Friday as a welcoming place for young people to spend their time in a safe, supportive environment. The club offers a positive space where young people can come together, relax, and take part in activities that encourage social connection, personal development, and enjoyment.

Designed to meet the needs of a diverse group of young people, the club provides opportunities to build confidence, develop friendships, and strengthen a sense of belonging. Staff work to create an atmosphere that is inclusive, respectful, and approachable, helping young people feel valued and heard.

Through informal learning, group activities, creative opportunities, and positive interaction with trusted adults, young people are encouraged to develop new skills and explore their interests. The open-access nature of the provision means young people can engage at their own pace, whether they are looking for company, support, or simply a safe place to be.

The club also plays an important role in offering early support and encouragement. Young people can access guidance, positive role models, and informal advice in a setting that feels comfortable and familiar. This helps promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and healthy choices.

Friday Youth Club is committed to creating a space where young people can thrive socially and emotionally while enjoying constructive use of their time. It is a valued part of Alford Houses work with young people, supporting them to grow in confidence and connect with others in a caring community environment.
